Gyan checked the hinges of the old door. He diddn't trust them, so, from one of his pockets, he pulled a small bottle of brown liquid. He spilled a bit on each hinge and pulled the door open without a sound.
The vast library was much more encaptivating at night, lit my wandlight. It's tall shelves looming just out of reach of the light. The smell of old books came to Gyan's nostrils and he crept into the library, pondering where the restricted section might me through the shadows.
"You there, Ranyr?" He asked with a whisper.

She tapped him on the shoulder in confirmation to that.
The Ravenclaw assumed it was mostly rhetorical anyway, seeing as she'd been just behind his heels, even stepping on them sometimes. She managed to notice him slow down, almost running into him for what would've been the fourth time, and smirked to herself.
"You know where you're going, right?" she asked, not in the way she did during the fetching of Cerberus's claw in which her tone had been harsh and near condemning, though more playful and taking light of the matter.
Partly this was due to her quick adaptation to situations, and partly because she happened to know where it was and how to get there. It was the library after all, her haven. Of course, she said nothing, as Gyan probably did too and Ranyr wasn't willing to make a mistake and be embarassed. She'd never been there, good child that she was.

Gyan nodded, thankfull that it was dark and she couldn't see the blush rising in his cheecks. His acute sense of smell was stabbing his brain. She smelled like grass and lake water.
"Hm...I'm guessing the sign over there that sais 'Restricted Section' means something?" He said playfully.

[[ Grass and lake water? O-o; I hope that's good. xD ]]
Ranyr flinched. She saw no sign. Oh wait... there? Her eyes squinted in attempts to make anything out in the dark, Gyan's wand's light only worsening her vision from it's constant flickers. Whoever made spells needed to make some actually stable ones.
"It might," she replied with a shrug. "Go find out," and she gave him a light shove forward in the dark.

Gyan chuckled a bit, shoved her back, and walked over to the sign, climbing over the rope into the Restricted Section. He turned around and looked at the girl, waiting for her to follow him. "I hope your not this slow all the time" He said with a wink.

Ranyr made a small, 'eep'-like noise as he pushed her back in return, covering her mouth instantaneously, eyes darting about. Realizing they hadn't been heard, she locked her vision on Gyan as he simply crossed the barrier like it was nothing.
"I'm not slow!" she defended in a harsh whisper, but remained where she was. Shouldn't there be some sort of defensive spell or something? Or had he already disabled it, the smarty little kid... Frowning, she walked in a mimic of absolute slow motion, making her way over to the still hard-to-see-sign and rope barrier.

Gyan let the silence settle before he followed her. He lit a few of the lamps on the walls and began purusing through the books. He saw one he knew that screamed. He waited in the silence, opened it and threw it at her feet, laughing hysterically a few seconds afterward.

Ranyr had been fingering the spines of the books in a near trance, fascintating by their covering variety which didn't often existed in the well ... not-restricted area.
Of course, she could help but release yet another scream in match to the one now vibrating out of the book at her feet. Instinctively, she kicked it in frightand the shriek increased in volume before the cover smothered it ... and silence would've continued had someone not been laughing like a crazy lunatic beside her. Whipping out her wand, it unfortunately slipped out of her fingers at the speed she wasn't accostomed to. Refusing to lose dignity she found it among the dark floor and pointed it at his face, threatening a silence spell or... something.
The RavenClaw held a finger to her lips.
"Shhh!!!" And patted him on the head.
She put the book back on the shelf. Despite her light-heartedness, she was still cautious enough not to allow obscene laughter.
"You have to understand I'm too perfect to get caught," she whispered, pulling him further down the aisle. She didn't know what he was looking for but she certainly wanted to find something interesting to read. "Consequently, you can't be annoying." Ranyr turned to flash a grin.

Gyan returned her grin, and said mishceviously, "The librarian is out on the grounds with the groundskeeper. I don't think they'll be back for a while. You should relax a bit" He said, continuing to grin.
After scanning the shelves, he found one that appeared to be covered in blood. After sniffing it and confirming it was blood, he opened it and began to scrounge through the pages. "Witch hunt, blah blah blah, muggle masacre, blah blah blah" He tossed the book aside and continued to look around. But for some strange reason, he couldn't stop thinking of ways to tourture Ranyr again. She seemed too dignified.
"Not a good quality if she was going to hang out me," he thought.
"Hey, heres one titled Wizarding Families' Horrors of the 20th Century. " Gyan said with interest. "Wanna find our names?" He asked, sitting down on a chair near where they were.

And where, exactly, did he get all this information? Deciding to believe him, considering no one had heard her earlier scream, Ranyr let herself relax a bit (though with a frown). True to her nature, however, she kept all senses open despite Gyan's words.
"Hey, heres one titled Wizarding Families' Horrors of the 20th Century...."
Ranyr's recently relaxed form tensed up again. Was he trying to mess with her again? No, he couldn't have any idea... *
"Not particularly," she replied, feigning disinterest. "But perhaps you can go ahead and look yourself up."

Gyan found his last name, read the usual pile about his father and tossed the book aside. He had a thought to look up Ranyr's name as well, but decided against it. The girl seemed like she was on the brink of exploding. He breifley thought of a simple Cheering Charm, but figured she wouldn't approve of it.
He stood up from the chair and thought of a very simple, yet affective joke. He waited untill she wasn't looking, transformed, and hid behind a fairly thick book. Now just to wait.

[[So mean. xD]]
Ranyr looked at the books beside her, away from where Gyan was searching for himself. Oddly, she hadn't heard him make any comment on what he found. Turning back to look where he was she saw only... the book, tossed aside carelessly. She frowned.
the RavenClaw figured he was playing another prank on her, but despite her better judgement was worried she might end up in trouble. "Where did Gyan go, Ranyr?' 'Oh, I think a book ate him and I...' 'Expelled!!' ran the conversation she predicted would happen in the near future.
"Gyaaaan," she wailed, and turned to leave to the next aisle.

Gyan chuckled inwardly. He softly fluttered behind her and re-formed. He was only a few inches behind her. He reached out, grabbed her sides and screamed. Only slightly though, for he let her go and began laughing.

[[Too lazy to switch accounts]]
For the second time that day, Ranyr screamed. And that was far too many times for her taste.
The RavenClaw turned around as soon as he'd let go of her with intent to injure or maim his figure in some fashion. She did not enjoy not knowing things. It was her main peeve, the most irritating things that could ever occur. Like-wise, surprises simply caused a burst in her personality quite unlike the calm, wary child she typically was.
"GYAN!" she shrieked in anger and fright, her heart-rate doubled, sad because she had even expected this to happen. Managing to control herself to as best degree she could, inaling slowly, Ranyr pointed to him with a quivering finger, still shaky.
"Don't do that." Her pointing hand retracted back to her side, but with a second thought, she picked out a random book from the shelf beside her and threw it at him before walking away.
[[Ooh, she got all serious on you, buddy.]]

Gyan couldn't help chuckling at the flabbergasted girl. He smirked at her and wen't back to the shelves. He stuffed a thick spell book into his robe pocket before talking again. "Jumpy little creature, aren't you?" He said, the tease in his voice ringing throuhout his words.
