Alyson saw the look on Alex's face, but couldn't register what she might be upset about. Nicodemus looked forlorn, but that confused her as well. But she didn't have any time to ponder on it any longer. "Alexis, wait!" She said, chasing after her sister. She almost shouted for the boy to go away, because obviously it was his fault that she had gone off in the brink of tears. But then he spoke to her, and Aly stopped.
Aly grinned. Her sister seemed to be having fun. She didn't know what had made her upset, but this was an interesting situation. Alexis had been a dancer, and Aly knew it, even if her sister couldn't remember. So seeing her twirl as though ready to dance was a refreshing sight. Maybe Alex was strong enough to remember after all.

(Oops, I thought I posted here ages ago. Sorry, sorry, sorry)
"Brilliant, a prima ballerina would be envious" he smiled and applauded quietly. "My sort of dancing is strictly ballroom, confined to me and a female partner. Alas, dancing was always too feminine a hobby for my father to permit me to attempt it seriously. Still, I can appreciate when someone does it well" he teased lightly. "Let's see if you can't do some more, I like dancers. They're all lithe and graceful" he liked the twins, though they seemed to be not even remotely alike. It was a shame Aly was so shy, he would have liked to talk to her privately and she didn't seem to be the sort of girl who would hold with being alone with him for any amount of time.

Alexis grinned. "I don't know how much I remember, but I guess I could try." Slipping off her shoes to make it easier, she lifted lightly onto almost the tips of her toes, wishing she had proper foot-wear. Arms held in a circle, she pointed one toe out, and began, flowing from step to step. She didn't even really think about it all that much. It was truly second nature.
Bending in a plie and smoothly falling into what she once recalled as a glissade, Alex remembered a few of the names of what she was doing. She soon realized that she was dancing in a library, but wanted to finish, and ended in a curtsy, one toe pointed back, arms held out, and smiling. Slightly out of breath she stood back up again, her face a brilliant red from embarassment.

Nico did not clap this time, he merely looked stunned. "Wow" he said finally "And here I was thinking I was only teasing you. I am truly humbled, you are one skilled girl" he said in awe. Swallowing every bit of pride he'd ever had he smiled and added "Do you think you can show me? Show me how, I mean" in his experience people loved sharing what they knew. Besides, provided no one saw him it would probably prove fun and definitely prove to be interesting. If someone did see him then he would merrily beat them insensate, so it was really a win-win situation.
Asking for lessons from a girl dancing in the library, he seemed almost back to his old self. Charming, sweet, and silly he was far more likable than the generally brooding quick-tempered boy he had become after the summer. What's more he was actually having fun and not dreading anything at all, it was a feeling he had gotten far out of touch with over the past few months.

Alexis grinned at the praise Nicodemus gave her. "I suppose I could try and show you how." Alex said thoughtfully. She would have to teach as she remembered the steps, but it might actually work.
"The first thing to learn would probably be the basic positions. There are different arrangements of these, but I'll show you the ones I've learned. After you get those down, it's just a matter of learning how to change them into an actual dance."
"There is, believe it or not, a particular way to hold your hands. Now, not all of your fingers should be separated. The last three fingers of your hand go together, your pointer finger separated slightly from them, and your thumb should be hidden behind them. And, this is first position."
Alexis stood with her arms held in front of her in a circle. Both of her feet were pointed outward, heels together. "The trick is keeping your balance, but it's not nearly as trying as the other positions."
Amazed that she could remember all of this, she took a real delight in showing someone else how to perform it. Something tickled the back of her mind, like a memory trying to break through, but it was lost again.
