Hey!
My name's Alexis Hannah Farmer, and I'm starting this journal to help me remember things. It's very difficult, you see, after the accident. Some witches and wizards came in our home and attacked my family. I completely lost my memory in the attack. But the Healers think that maybe I can regain it. Some things they have had to reteach me, but other things, like reading and writing, are coming back on their own. I'm at Hogwarts now, with my twin sister Aly and my big sister Maria.
Anyway, on my first day here, I met a really nice boy named Nicodemus. When he found out who I was, I suppose he remembered that I didn't have much of a memory, and made me angry. But, in the end, I really forgave him and I discovered that I could still dance. Aly says I had always danced as a little girl, and actually took classes and everything, so now I'm practicing more and more to help me remember.
Classes are interesting, but not as interesting as the magic itself. I'm fascinated with all of the interesting things you can do with a wand, and learning magic is just plain awesome! I have more classes tomorrow, so I should probably get to bed.
Signed,
Alexis Hannah Farmer

Okay, so what happened was this. I was out at the lake. I figured, If I can remember how to dance, maybe dancing will help me remember other stuff as well. So, I started dancing. I went at it for a while, and I thought I was doing well, but something was missing. I would miss an occasional step, or turn, and stumble. Then whatever I thought I might be remembering just sort of slipped away.
Then there was a boy. He just appeared out of nowhere, though I guess I just didn't notice him arrive while I was busy dancing. He was very charming, but said some very rude things to the boys behind him. They had all been watching me dance, it turned out. The boy was attacked by another angry one. He had used a strange hex that had put boils on the boy, and then lifted him in the air by his ankle.
I got angry and frightened, so I knocked the boy's wand out of his hand with 'Expelliarmus'. He became furious, and picked his wand back up. It hadn't travelled very far. He asked why I had attacked him, and pointed his wand at my heart. I wasn't very scared, even though I knew for sure that he had much more powerful magic than mine. I told him it wasn't a fair fight. I said that if he was going to attack, he ought not do it from the back.
He was still angry. He told me to hold my tongue, in a way, and let the boy down. After a bit, we both lowered our wands. For some odd reason, I told him about the loss of my memory. He said someone that knew Legilimency could find my memories, but he said it would be difficult to find someone, and it might not be the best choice. He said anyone who used Legilimens might see more than they wanted to.
I got upset. I don't know what's gotten into me lately, but I think it's because I feel so close to getting my old self back. I'm on the brink, now. I can almost feel it. I haven't told Aly any of this, because I know she wouldn't believe me. But this kid does. I hope I see him again. Maybe he'll be the one to help me find someone who'll get my memory back.
