Name: Neil Patrice Howell
Age: 26
Height: 5’10”
Weight: 195 lbs
Lineage: Half-Blood
Hair: Straw blond and wavy. Shoulder length, kept tied back in a horsetail.
Eyes: Dark brown
Other Distinguishing Characteristics: Pale and freckled. A tattoo of a skull with a snake coming out of its mouth on his shoulder. A brown birthmark shaped sort of like a duck on the back of his neck.
Personality: Generally an unfriendly antisocial person. Doesn’t like students, teachers, or the fact that he is a teacher.
Short Bio: Neil is the youngest of five children. When he was small he was terribly ill and the healers were certain he wouldn’t survive infancy. He did. He was in and out of hospitals until he was seven and bedridden most of the time. Everything he knew about the world came either from his elder siblings, his window, or books. He had private tutors and didn’t go to school with other children until Hogwarts. Naturally he was spoiled rotten, his family always treated him as something fragile and precious so he assumed the rest of the world felt this way as well. He was clever for his age but not meeting other people his own age he always figured he was stupid since his only contacts were considerably older than himself. He was also quite cynical, being told you’re going to die does that to a person. School was, naturally, one hell of a surprise. Finding out simultaneously that everyone around you much happier than you are, much stupider than you are, and hates you leads to a whole host of interesting psychological traumas.
He lived a fairly decent life at Hogwarts. People called him ‘Scarecrow’ for seven years. He rarely spoke unless it was to say something disparaging or sarcastic. People didn’t hate him exactly, he was pretty forgettable. He had a tight circle of close friends whom he still keeps in close contact with. Even in school they became interested in the Dark Arts together, after they graduated they hooked up with the sort of people who showed them what Dark really was. It was one of those close friends who decided that working at a bookstore was beneath Neil. It was one of those friends who pointed out that Hogwarts was desperate for teachers and that he was, if anything, over-qualified. It was a good job and Hogwarts was brimming with impressionable young people, there were probably loads of them who would be eager to join the same cause he had. He would just have to be subtle. He could be a teacher, he wouldn’t like it and chances were most of his students wouldn’t like it much either but he was obligated to. After all, the Dark Lord requested it of him.
(I hope this is cool. If its not I can make any changes that are required)
