Paolo stared into the mirror. Reflected back at her was... nothing. Not even her own reflection, or the room around her. It didn't make sense. The Mirror of Erised, according to legend, was supposed to show one what they truly desired. But this didn't make sense. How could anyone want nothing?
Paolo stood, pacing the room, glancing in the mirror every few seconds, then sat before it again. It betrayed nothing, except a ripple like the surface of disturbed water, which quickly disappeared. Paolo glared at it. Couldn't anything be easy? Just once?

Gyan slowly pushed the door open. He had walked by the door to this room before, but had never walked into it. He shut the door behind him and looked.
Inside of the room was a twelve-foot tall, beautiful mirror. Could it simply be in storage? Gyan was about to take another step when he saw the sillohuette of a student, and he stepped back into the shadow, preparing to leave.

Paolo ceased her pacing as her sharp ears caught soft footsteps.
"Well, don't bother leaving now, you're already here."
She turned to face the pale, skinny boy standing near the door, narrowing her reddish eyes.

Gyan spoke softly. "Terribly sorry to interupt, I diddn't think anyone would be here." Gyan explained to the girl.
He than turned his attention to the beautifully decorated mirror. "Why is there a mirror in here?" He asked.

Paolo turned to the mirror as well. "It's the Mirror of Erised. Supposedly, when you look into it, it shows your deepest desires, " she turned back to the boy. However, it may or may not be broken.
Paolo had a different suspicion as why she wasn't showing up in the mirror, but she wasn't about to voice that opinion.

Gyan stepped forward. "Sounds like something that could render a persons heard arrested." He said. Gyan stood beside of Paolo and glanced into the mirror.
He saw himself standing next to his brother infront of a large crowd. He than saw the croud was celebrating, and he was holding a newspaper. Gyan looked at the heading. "FINAL DARK WIZARDS SENTANCED TO AZKABAN. WIZARDING WORLD FREE"
Gyan blinked. He saw what he wanted, and knew it would happen one day.
"What do you see?" He asked the girl.

Paolo stared at Gyan. For a long time. Then she turned back to the mirror, shaking her hair gracefully away from her face.
After another few moments' silence, she said, "...Nothing." So quietly she herself almost couldn't hear it.

Gyan puzzled for a minute. "Than you must be content. If it shows your hearts desire and you see nothing, than it probably means you want nothing. That's what I would figure anyway." He said.
After a little bit he said, "The names Gyan."

She blinked in surprise. "Oh. Paolo. My name."
She glared at the mirror again.
"But that's not rue! It's not. There are too many questions that need answering, peace that needs to be made, things I need to understand! I just--" she paused, her usually drawling, calm voice tense with irritation and desperation. She balled her hands into fists, pressing the heels of her palms into her temples. "I don't get it! It's not fair, why everyone around me knows everything, shouldn't I deserve to know, too?!" She finished this with a half-growl, half-yell of frustration, resuming her pacing.

Gyan would have put a hand on her sholder to comfort her had it not been for her continuious pacing. "Mabey the answeres you seek cannot be shown to you by the mirror. Perhaps, it want's you to find things out for yourself."
He decided to add, "And trust me, everyone around here knows far from everything."

Isabella sighed as she stepped into the room. She was completely lost within thoughts racing in her mind. She didn't even hear people talking when she walked in. She shook her head fighting back tears that were to the brim. She didn't know what she wanted. She came here to see what it was she wanted since she wasn't the slightest bit sure. She took a deep breath and strolled to the mirror.
She looked up just as she ran into a girl pacing back and forth. She hit the floor and stared at the girl but didn't see her. She blinked a few times staring at what looked like an empty space to her. She glanced at where she saw Gyan talking but again she saw nothing. She hung her head low, she was going mildly insane.
Ever since she got the letter from her mother, about her father and little brother dying, she hasn't quiet been the same. She keeps hallucinating and not seeing the real things. She just sat there staring at the floor, at least she could see that. She wanted to cry so hard but she wasn't sure what was going on around her so she kept fighting them back. For the most part it was working but her lips were trembling, it was at the point that even if she fought them off you could still tell she was about to cry.
[[The part about her not hearing them talk was because she walked in and saw Gyan's lips moving from talking but she couldn't hear anything.]]

"What--what the hell is your problem?!" Paolo stumbled a bit, but regained her balance shortly. An unfamiliar Hufflepuff girl had literally just walked into her. The girl looked quite possibly insane. Paolo didn't want to deal with this-- she had enough troubles of her own, she didn't need to deal with some whiny, weepy girly girl's problems as well...
She let out a roar of frustration. "You think I haven't tried-- "
Just as Paolo had turned back to Gyan to speak, she was slammed in the stomach so hard and suddenly, it made her double over, dropping to her knees. Hunger. Raging, sanity-depriving hunger, never satisfied, threatening to tear her apart at the seams. She groaned, her vision going white at the corners, and the whole room wavered and looked vaguely red as if she were looking at it through bloody water...

Okay, enough of this. Gyan thought. Isabella had collided with Paolo out of nowhere, and now Paolo was having some kind of of fit. Gyan had no clue what to do, so he did the first thing that came to his mind. He ran for it.

Isabella's ears twitched as the sound of something pounding echoed in her ears. It faded after a while then she began to see the girl on her knees in front of her. She heard what she said and she stood up dusting off her pants glaring loosely at the girl.
"What is my problem...?" She said calmly to the girl then bust out laughing hysterically. "I have many things wrong with me that, YOU wouldn't understand. You have your secrets I have mine! Don't you dare, ever say things like that to me. You stupid little girl!" She growled lightly at her between her screams. She just past the border line of insanity. She was yelling at a girl she didn't know.
She shook her head then cradled it with her hands. She then sighed and walked over to the mirror, but to her surprise she didn't get a chance to look at it. She blacked out and laid on the floor after hitting it rather hard. A little blood trickled from her head onto the floor visible to the girl.

Paolo convulsed horribly, feeling as though she might puke. Finally, the pain in her stomach eased, just a little, but she looked around weakly. Gyan had run, she could hear his footsteps echoing down the hall, and the Hufflepuff girl had screamed something at her that she hadn't caught, her ears had been ringing so badly, like steam escaping from a kettle, a high-pitched whistle that had only just faded. And now the girl was lying on the floor, blood trailing from her head. Paolo shuddered involuntarily at the sight of it, leaning towards the reddish flow without noticing she was doing it.
