Pepe sat crouched a short distance from the edge of the lake. He was in an unusually sober mood, quite different from his usual bubbliness.
The sky was grey and flat, looking as though it were contemplating what it should do, a perfect mirror for Pepe's thoughts--contemplative, just thinking.
In truth, being so close to the lake scared the hell out of Pepe; he was terrified of deep water, and drowning. It was a contributor to his mood, but he had wanted to be away from people for a little while to think, mostly about his brother, wasting his life away in Azkaban, where he didn't even belong. Pepe had triedand failed for three years to think of a way to prove Filippe's innocence, but had given up until just recently. His recent visit to Filippe had reinspired his efforts, but he still couldn't think of how to get him out.

Raphael clumsily stumbled on a rock but caught his balance before he fell onto a boy sitting rather peacefully on the ground. He walked to the other side of the boy. He sat down quietly next to him glancing over at him and smiling calmly. He was kind of upset, he didn't know anyone, he missed his mum, and he just over all was having a bad day. He sighed lightly not to disturb the boy.
"'Ello." He said to the boy in a whispered kind of tone. He stared at the chalky blue water. He felt a strike of sadness roll up into his spin. It flooded into his mind and he let it just float around. He sighed again looking at the rather flat gray sky, it reminded him of a blanket. It seemed like to him that the sky was one big blanket hovering over everyone doomed to come crashing down someday and smother everyone. Rather nasty though, yes, but his life hasn't been the best but he got used to it and random thoughts of the sort would creep in. He just let them float around never thinking too hard on them. But over all he is a fairly pleasant boy to talk to and be around.

Gyan finnaly emerged from the water, the gills on his neck dissapearing and the fins that had replaced his hands and feet were slowly going back to normal. He was clutching a bucket with one arm and pushing his sopping hair, littered with the occasional water beetle or sting of lake weed out of his face with a fin.
Gyan had taken some gillyweed from his brothers stores and went diving through the water in his old, black swimming trunks, searching for a potion ingrediant he was low on.
He was still waist deep in the water when he noticed there were people on the shore. One of them was Pepe, and he couldn't quite recognize the other.
He ignored them and began to count his excursions results.

Pepe blinked, startled from his thoughts. "Oh, hello. Don't believe I've met you, my name is Pepe." He smiled quietly. He also noticed Gyan, looking rather odd, coming out of the lake, and wondered vaguely what he was up to, but didn't say anything.

Gyan smiled. He had about three pounds of Onyx Lake Leeches. He walked up to the shore where Raphael and Pepe were. Gyan was still knee-deep in water, but he was looking quite pleased with himself. "Hey, guys. What's goin on?" He asked cheerfully.
The last traces of his gills left, and his hands were back to normal once more.

Raphael stared at Pepe then looked at at Gyan then smiled awkwardly at him. He wasn't in one of his mellow moods, or a good mood even. He was in one of his random depressing mood that made him seem extremly out of it, which he was really. He shook his head and curled his knees to his chest and rested his chin on them.
"I'm just thinking really. I'm Raphael by the way, Pepe." He spoke softly but loud enough for them both to hear. He twitched his ears then let his hair fall in front of his face.

Pepe nodded to Raphael. It seemed he was finally not the only one at Hogwarts with a different accent, his own being French, but not so greatly affecting his speech that people couldn't understand his words.
"What've you been up to?" he inquired slowly of Gyan, then turned to Raphael curiously, adding, "And about what?"

Gyan grinned and gave his metal bucket a little shake. "Nuthin much, just collecting Lake Scathe Leeches." He said with a twitch of his eyebrow.

Pepe nodded slowly. "More moneymaking, I take it?"

Gyan smiled. "No, these are helpfull little potion ingrediants. I'm running low. They thin potions and help nullify poisons."
"What are you guys up to?"
