Fork sat atop the hut again, grinning to herself as rain drummed on her head and lightning lit up the clouds in sheets over her head.

Aislin snuck up on the rooftop behind Fork, a wicked smiled on her face. She tackled her friend from the side, grinning the whole while. She pulled her arm behind her back to pin her on her stomach, but not hurt her. "[red]Say uncle![/red]" she said with laughter in her voice. She hadn't wrestled in so long, and she could feel her clothes getting soaked and dirty. Perfect.

Fork yelped, then giggled as she wriggled furiously in Aislin's grip, growling, "[orange]Never![/orange]" She bit playfully at Aislin's arm, sliding from her grasp and flipping them both dangerously close to the lip of the roof, scattering leaves and dirt from the gutter.

Aislin laughed and dove back for Fork as she slipped them, skidding half off of the hut. "[red]Haha, just help me up you slobbery dork,[/red]" she said, wiping her arm off on her shirt as she held on with her other hand. She wasn't scared of falling; it wasn't that high.

"Unf!" Fork lurched back upright from where she had ended up with her upper body hanging out over the edge of the roof, and reached out a hand for Aislin. With an odd, sedated-looking grin, she mumbled something incoherent, ending in the word "glass".

"[red]Regis, could you please repeat the question?[/red]" Aislin joked, not really catching a word Fork had said. She took her friend's hand and pulled herself up.

Fork stuck her tongue out, catching raindrops on the tip, then turned back to Aislin, grinning. "Rain reminds me of shattered glass."

"[red]Except the concept of being hit by thousands of pieces of glass and bleeding from every portion of your body. That is where glass has the advantage in my mind,[/red]" Aislin replied completely serious. God, she could be morbid.

"[orange]Yes,[/orange] " Fork nodded. "Lots of bleeding dead, no one would go out, no dancing, dead blood. Dead people, dead all hiding inside."
She turned her face up to the rain, letting the little drops splash her closed eyes.

Aislin found strange comfort in her friend's words, realizing that she really did understand. She lay on her back and smiled as the droplets splashed her face. She rested her head on Fork's lap and sighed.
"[red]Why do you hate Stradivarius so?[/red]" she asked softly, but suddenly.

Fork turned to face her friend, her eyes wide and doleful. After several seconds' silence, she murmured slowly, "Because... Escapism does not impress me..." She settled on her knees, slowly turning her eyes with a strange little smile to her hands curled loosely in her lap.

Aislin frowned. "[red]I'm not sure I follow...[/red]" she said softly, water from the rain rolling down her pale face.

"If inference isn't enough... Proof when I was living with him." Fork looked out into the rain. "I wasn't intimidated, but he chose to hide." She flicked her tongue over her lips, licking away raindrops. For being lifelong friends, their relationship was very juvenile, made of stories and bits of worthless treasure from younger days. Nothing had mattered then, and neither, she realized, actually knew much of the other's life.
((Yes, she is lucid right now, but the reason she talks so weird when she's crazy is because she talks weird when she's not too. So it follows through that since she's hard to understand when lucid, she's nigh impossible to comprehend when she's not. She just words her thoughts in a very loose manner.))

[[Mmm]
"[red]You lived with him?[/red]" she asked slowly. She really didn't know much about her best friend...nor did Fork know much about her. Aislin put her hand on Fork's arm. "[red]What happened, honey?[/red]" she asked, visible scars on her own arms from her father's work. Aislin looked at them for a moment, and then turned back to Fork.

"Escapism, " Fork said simply. In a shocking burst of lucidity, she explained slowly, "S'why he's such a bookworm. He avoided his family--abusive and spiteful and hateful, by the way--by burying himself in books and studies and violin. Pathetic enough to begin with. They... didn't fare too well with me, didn't much like me, or understand me... assumed I'm a little freak in a pathetic attempt to get attention. And, little Mr. Pity Me here liked to use that dislike to his advantage to turn their angered attention away from himself. Onto me. Distasteful and despicable and petty and selfish. Stole my things, locked me out of my room, killed his sister's cat with my wand. Can't count the number of times I picked the lock when he was beaten and locked in a closet, but learned to never expect any sort of favor in return for mine..."
She stuck her tongue out, caught a raindrop on the tip, and flicked her tongue back into her mouth, seeming completely unbothered by her tale, which she had recited with a sort of light disinterest.
"But of course, it's really not my story to tell, don't have permission, y'know, so I can't tell you, " Fork said belatedly, and with a contrastingly dark sarcastic humor in her voice.
