"[red]Of course not,[/red]" Aislin commented, rolling her eyes. She was somewhat disturbed with what her friend told her, but at the same time...she was relieved to hear that Fork had helped Stradivarius anyway. "[red]Lucky I wasn't there, eh? I'd have...I don't know, but you and I would have done something....[/red]"
There was silence for a long moment.
"[red]You know....[/red]" she paused, wondering whether to bring it up or not. "[red]Dad--my uncle, I suppose...he got drunk a lot...and he beat me and mum...until she died....then he did it more often....he blamed me, ya know? And then last year...my real parents....they aren't any better. I miss my mum, you know? Remember how she used to charm chocolates for us when were kids, and tell us tales of dragons and giants?[/red]"
Aislin paused. "[red]I think if she had....if she had lived, you could have come to stay with us. Even though he was a drunk, papa always liked you. He didn't like kids, but he loved you....I think that would have been okay. I think....I'm sorry Stradivarius was....I can't apologize for them though. I can hate them for it, but I don't see the good it'll do.[/red]" she said.
She nudged her friend and laughed. "[red]We'll make their teeth bigger. Didn't you learn that today in charms?[/red]" she asked.

Fork listened quietly to Aislin's words, her dark expression easing slowly. She picked up one of Aislin's hands gently and laced her fingers through her friend's. Then laughed aloud at the Charms comment.
"Yes, yes, lovely lovely violence, " she smirked. "Mother--"(for Fork had always called Aislin's mother her own as well, it was Aislin's mother that had actually suggested it)"--never pretended nothing was wrong, I suppose I never had the chance to notice..." Fork dropped her gaze down and to the side slightly. "Cannot cannot make up for what is over, no indeed, " she continued again, however, with a deep shrug. "Phases of life, unstable in our homes, none such to speak of, eh?" she said in a sing-song voice, but there was a clear melancholy edge to her voice. "For circumstance hath no such teeth and no deliverance therefore of reciprocation for misdeeds of it's own choosing."
The tip of Fork's tongue flicked over her lips, licking away raindrops.

"[red]I don't know how much more biblical you can get and still have me follow your every word. I'm not used to the seriousness in conversation with you. It's nice though Fork....it really is...[/red]" She was quiet a moment.
"[red]Why did I start calling you 'Fork?' I really do not remember. Morganna always used to find it childish and quite silly. I've grown quite accustomed to it myself.[/red]" She was suddenly proud that she could speak her sister's name and not feel remorse.

Raising her eyebrows and tilting her head a little to complete the expression, Fork confirmed, "Seriousness is indeed not a trademark of a Fork, highly unorthodox language notwithstanding."
She smiled a little.
"The origins, if perhaps I remember correctly owe their due to a certain habit preexisting to the union of a certain Klar and Hunter."
The smile grew to a slight smirk. Fork knew Aislin probably wouldn't remember the habit in question; Fork had had many odd habits, more so actually than she did currently--now they were more along the lines of odd tendencies rather than habits.

"[red]Yes, yes....of course....[/red]" Aislin said. She had never had the best memory in the world, but she doubted that she would know what she was talking about anyway, though she did most of the time.
"[red]Ok, I give. Which habit?[/red]"

Fork shook her head gleefully, flinging water droplets from her short hair. "A certain object of the same name kept always threefold on Fork's person for three months, until your mother and mine took them all from the vicinity." She giggled, and dramatically whipped her namesake utensil from a hidden pocket.
