Maria sat next to a very dead appearing tree in the Forbidden Forest. She wasn't all tht frightened of being discovered there. Professor Dean, after all, was in the way of any entrance into the forest, and Maria was sure that he didn't care. All he cared about was recruiting, which Maria had done none of thus far. Things swerved through her mind, and she figured that now would be a good time to practice.

The moth Gyan was perched in a very dead looking tree in the Forbidden Forest when Maria came along. He twitched his antennae and fluttered off the tree branch to see who had disturbed him. When he reached the girl he perched on her knee and looked up to see who it was.

Still attempting to keep a blank mind, she glanced down and noticed a moth resting on her knee. Fascinated, she watched it for a moment, losing the clear mind she had used earlier. She sighed a little, and rested her head on the tree. She noticed a slight hiss to her left.
"Humans approaching. Two. One with frightened steps, other very sure. They sneak to hut."
Maria recognized the language, but didn't reply. If anything were going wrong at the hut, she would be called on. She would call her broom and fly behind the hut. It would be easiest. But she didn't want to worry about protecting the so-called new rising "Dark Lord." She closed her eyes once more, and all thought drifted from her mind. She was getting to the point in her practices that she believed with an average Legilimens, she could at least hold them off.

[[I'll delete it if you want me too.]]
Isabella saw Maria, the girl she met at the common room, she smiled and jogged to her. She sat next to her and smiled at her. "Mind I join you? If not I'll leave. I have to practice a little, anyway." She chuckled a little then sighed noticing the moth. She reached for it and caught it in he palm. She didn't crush it she just held it, palm open so it could fly away if it wanted. She smiled at it.
"Moth's are pretty! I love them. They are so peaceful and elegant." She smiled. I wonder if it is Gyan? I wont hurt it either way though. She smiled at the thought then stared at it noticing its design. It looked like the moth Gyan changed into that one time at the hut. He thoughts trailed off to that memory and the comers of her mouth curled into a frown. It was a sad memory.

A girl walked up to her and sat down. A little surprised, Maria nodded to show that it was okay for her to sit down, still attempting to keep her mind void of all thought. It held rather well. Happy that her practice was beginning to pay off, she let go of it. "Yes, it just sort of sat down on my knee when I came here." She said, glancing at it curiously. "Strange, I guess, but not unlikely. I was just really sitting here thinking mostly. It's pretty hard, sorting through thoughts and emotions like that." There, she told Isabella what she was doing without revealing anything important.
Rather proud of herself, she rested one elbow on her knee, glancing at the moth again. "What are you doing here so late at night, Isabella?"

She took a deep breath then shook her head keeping her hand steady. "I needed practice." She said plainly admiring the moth's colors and wings. She smiled at Maria. "So you are trying to clear your mind? Like Gyan always says to do!" She chuckled shaking her head again.
She saw a spot perfect to practice when she decided to finally stand up and practice. She smiled examining it to be sure. She didn't want to burn anything down. That would be bad then she would be caught. She sighed looking back at the moth smiling.

Gyan fluttered a bit in Isabella's hand. He took off, and fluttered a bit before landing in Maria's hair. It reaked of shampoo, but it was clean. He slowly flapped his wings, enjoying his good mood.

Maria watched the moth land in her hair, but didn't move. "Yeah, that was what I was trying to do." She said. She heard noise coming from the hut and glanced in that direction.
"You were practicing that thing you told me about the other night, then, I suppose." Maria said softly. "Be glad you have something like that. It'll help keep you safe. Me, I've only got one talent, and thus far it hasn't proved to be of any use whatsoever."

Isabella sighed and when she did the moth fluttered into Maria's hair. She smiled admiring it's elegance. She shook her head then looked at Maria. "Yes. It need to learn to control it more so it doesn't work as a defense. If I get attacked it triggers and I don't want it to do that." She nodded a little when she said 'yes'. She looked at the spot again.
It was fairly close, she could still talk to Maria if she wanted to. Maria could help her a little too, attack her if needed. She smirked a little then shrugged. She decided to wait for Maria to reply before she did anything next.

"Yeah, I can see where not being able to control it would be a problem." Maria said, nodding. She still kept her eye on the hut, and held her head very still. She didn't want to disturb the moth.
"But so would not being able to defend yourself. LIke me. I've got nothing but magic on my side, now. That's why I'm trying to learn it as fast as I can. My family is in even worse of a state. They don't even have magic. Other than my sisters, of course." Maria paused and thought for a moment. "D'you need any help? It might give me a warm-up as well."

Isabella smiled at her then glanced at the hut wondering why Maria kept staring at it. She shook her head and nodded. "That would be great thanks!" She smiled again then walked to the clearing.

{Warning: slight godmoding. Hope you're okay with it, Gyan.} "Wingardium Leviosa." Maria said, pointing the wand to where she guessed the moth might be. It rose up in the air, and she sat it gently against the tree before cutting off the charm.
"So, I guess you just want me to attack, huh? Don't go too hard on me. I'm not all that great at magic yet, and I probably don't know any more spells than you do." Maria lifted her wand, but dropped it as searing pain erupted in it. She cried out, and quickly hid it in the sleeves of her robes. The dragon would be getting larger, and she didn't want them to see it.
"Sorry, sorry." Maria said, wincing. "I . . . have to . . . go. Important."
"Accio, Firebolt 3000!" She whispered, calling her new broom and running. "I wouldn't come up to the castle yet!" She whispered before leaving Isabella. "I think I saw the Headmistress headed this way. She won't come in the forest, but I have to leave."
Maria left, hoping beyond anything else that Isabella would stay.

Gyan transformed, and looked at the patch of trees Maria had just flown through. He knew very well that the headmistress wasn't comming, but was still concerned. "Hm, I wonder what that was all about" he said.

Isabella shook her head then smiled at Gyan. "Don't know." she shrugged then looked at the clearing again. I still need to practice but I don't want to fight Gyan. Last time I did... well that hurt! She sighed and smiled aimlessly at the trees.

Gyan turned around and saw her expression. "Whats wrong, Isabella?". He asked the girl.
