Maria walked into the shop in her Muggle clothes. She wore a baby blue tank top and shorts. A bell rang as she stepped onto the plush carpet. Robes lined the walls, most of them in colors such as black and green. Besides those, there were a few odd colors and patterns such as orange polka dots. You'd have to be an interesting character to wear those. Maria thought.
"Hello?" Maria called. "Is there anyone here?" Her feet padded softly on the carpet as she walked around, looking at the robes and waiting for someone to assist her.

Crypto heard someone enter the shop and ask if anyone was there. She jumped up from her chair and ran the the front of the store.
"Uhm, hey! Sorry for the wait, I was in the back!" Crypto apologized hurriedly, "Its my first day on the job..." she smiled. "How may I help you?"

Maria gasped as she heard someone speak. Turning, she saw the girl she had assisted at the shop. "Hi." Maria said, smiling broadly. "I'm Maria, and I'm looking for some robes. Just plain ones, for school."
{Agh. Really short post}

"Maria? Thats a pretty name. I'm Crypto. I was just measuring my robes myself.. heheh.." Crypto pulled our some measuring tape. She reached over and pressed the end of the measuring tape to Maria's shoulder, then brought it down to about where her shoes began.
"Hmm..." Crypto wrote the measurements down onto her hand with a pen which she produced from her pocket. She made her way over to some racks, and went through the sizes. She produced one from the racks, looked at it for a minute, then brought it to Maria.
"Try this one on, and we'll see how it fits. Ok?"

Maria glanced at the robe and gently took it from her. "Thanks, Crypto." Waving the robes around, she pulled them over her Muggle clothes. She struggles with them slightly, but then finally managed to get them over her head. "Phew." She sighed, and smoothed out the robes. The hems dragged slightly along the floor.
"Um." Maria began, giggling. "Their just a little to long." She smiled at Crypto. "How do we get them fixed?"

"I guess we'll just have to cut a bit of it off." Crypto smiled nervously. "Can you stand on that platform over there?" Crypto nodded at a small platform in front of some mirrors.

Maria nodded absent-mindedly, twirling around once in the robes. They were definitely to short. "Yeah." She said, moving towards the platform. She looked at her reflection carefully. Her blue eyes looked back, but something was a little different. Maria knew exactly what was wrong. Well, maybe it wasn't something wrong. To tell the truth, Maria found it as something very right.
At her job, she had talked to Nicodemus. She almost laughed at the thought. Those conversations were always interesting. It seemed as though Nico always had something charming to say. And even though she knew he said different things, Maria was always at least mildly surprised at what he had to tell. Just earlier, the Slytherin boy had asked her on a date. "Not a date, Maria." She muttered under her breath. Maria blinked, and looked around at Crypto, hoping she hadn't heard. The girl had not meant to say it aloud.

"Not a date, Maria." Crypto heard Maria whisper. "Eh? What was that?" Crypto's eyes widened. She shook her head and measured a little on the robes. "You only need about 2 inches." Crypto smiled nervously and walked away to get the material she needed. She reappeared a few seconds later, with some black material, obviously more than she needed, a needle, a pair of sissors, and a ruler. She squatted down, her black dress shifting around uncomfortably. She ignored it and began measuring and cutting. Soon enough, she was sure that she had enough, she sewed it on expertly. She had alot of experience with sewing, and had hand-made most of her clothes.

"Nothing!" Maria said hastily. "It was nothing."
Maria watched in awe as Crypto sewed the robes expertly. She was not the greatest at sewing, and found it interesting that Crypto could do it so easily. "You know," Maria began. "You don't really seem like the sewing type."

(sorry to just jump in here, but is said OPEN and this thread has been inactive for a while, so...)
The store bell tinkled merrily over the hum of the girl's conversation. The door opened to admit the patched and frayed form of a young man. He wore a simple (and very tattered) tunic the color of earth. Over his shoulders was a dark cloak, it was turned inside-out, revealing many rough stitchings and hastily done repairs. A slight gust from the closing door caugh it, and as it ruffled, one could catch a glance at the other side of the cloak: not merely black, but the color of darkness and the infinite depth of the sky. The young man hastily folded up his cloak. Dirty brown hair hung down over pale grey eyes that surveyed the shop hesitantly. Quick fingers, long and thin, tied up his cloak and attached it to leather travel bag he wore slung at his side. A worn leather belt ran around a thin, but not particularly muscular, waist. At each hip was a thin pocket, like the sheath of a knife. The boy spotted the girls near the corner of the shop, chating and measuring. His jaw clenched and something in his stomach buckled. It had been months since he had seen anyone near his age, much less a girl! "Umm...excuse me." he spoke in an impossibly quite whisper. He had an accent. Not a terrible one, nor terrible unattractive one. The rough, unrythmic tones of English had not yet set on his toungue, so he spoke with a slight lilting, rythmic quality. Like a wisp of breeze, a humm of insects, or the laughter of a stream. The girls did not seem to hear him "Excuse me...excuse me," he said growing bolder and louder. Finally, he called across the shop "Excuse me! I need a little help. You see, I need to have my wand inspected, I went to your wand shop, and it was locked. Is there somewhere else I can go? Oh," He seemed to notice the type of shop he was in suddenly, and simultaneously become aware of his own disheavled appearance "and I should probably get some new clothes also."
(I apologize for the length, introductions are always a little more involved)
