He sat alone in a rather decrepid chair, which was inturn appearing on the verge of breaking as it was tilted back on but two pegs versus the intended four. Propped oddly enough, left arm draped over the back, the other holding a set of papers with words he cared not about, he might as well have just fallen asleep right there. Unfortunately that did indeed happen and he lost his conscoius balance as it swept over him, and he fell rather ungracefully to the floor, the papers falling from his hands to scatter about as he was startled awake.
Not returning a single stare, he set his chair back upright, collected the papers and set them on the table, and sat back down with a grunt of annoyance. He should not be there, did not want to be there, did not care a thing about what he was doing yet did it none the less. He dropped his head so his forehead rested on the table, arms relaxed at his sides as he stared blankly at the floor as though it might suddenly engulf him into the land of happy unicorns and free of this realm of oddities. Noting that he hadn't ordered anything, he considered it briefly but didn't quite feel like moving at the moment, fearing he might miss his opportunity with the unicorns.

Iggy strode into the pub and took his hood off, letting his butt-length white hair flow behind him. It'd been ages since he had a break. He had his auror friend Iko take over at the school for a bit while he took the day off.
After having a flagon of iced rum, and some nice conversation with the gentleman beside of him, he stretched a bit and looked around the old bar.
He than saw an either half-asleep, or drunken man in the corner, dozing off over some papers. "You allrigh there, sir? You seem a bit pale. Come have a spot of rum, eh? I'm taking the day off, you should have a break too." He said, smiling at the man, a twinkle in his emerald eyes.

An unintelligable string of incoherency left his mouth briefly before the professor felt he had regained the willpower to lift his head. He took a moment to analyze this elfish man, who was speaking to him, eyes traversing over his rather perfect form. He huffed in dissaproval, particularly of the silver mane that dashed down his back, but said nothing on such an irrelvent subject. " Oh, yes indeed I'm fine," he announced with a near caustic tone quite innappropiate for he had never met this man before. His appearance in turn was rather ragged: copper hair disheveled, overly lengthy and the weak frame of an old man despite his condradicting face, holding youthful green eyes and awkward expressions. He wore not robes but a oversized, horizontally striped jacket with a grey shirt underneath, plus a pair of jeans, which was almost a type of blasphemy in this realm... or so he assumed. So far he'd only encountered maybe one other donning similar clothing. " But as for a break, don't tempt me..." though is voice drolled off as if realizing that he had already been tempted, and that he wasn't going to do anything but stare at the floor anyway, so he sighed insead. He'd been on 'break' till today, ever the procrastinator, so what could one more day hurt? The fact this was his last day. Not that he had to show tomorrow... he could always decline. Though, of course, he knew his survival depended on this job... not that survival was much of an incentive to him. What a situation. Fortunately he cared not the outcome so much as he thought he did. " O' course, sir!" exclaimed he, propelling himself from his chair and clapping the man on the back rather harshly. " Spot of rum it is!" A toothy grin replacing his previously droll expression with the sudden burst, he raised an arm in the air and waved it about drunkenly [despite not having had anything yet] in request of something. [[Hm.. long. ;]]

Iggy, gave a hearty laugh and clasped the elder man on the back with equal force. Iggy's long green robe brushed the floor from his stool. He was dressed in his work clothes, dispite his day off. Always on constant vigilance.
He wore knee-high dragon leather boots, black jeans under them. He had basalisk skin gloves on, a sturdy dragon leather breastplate, and a black turtleneck shirt underneath it, all topped with his green cloak.
"That a lad! Oye, could we get a flagon o'er here? Iced, o'course" He said cheerfully to the bartender.
He smiled to the tipsy man to his left. "So, what brings you London good sir?" He asked with a large plop of amity in his voice.

Matt flinched, more at the laugh that the 'pat on the back', but ignored it mostly with an awkward smile, seeming half forced on one side while the other formed a sincere but loose grin.
"What indeed?" he replied in a questoining manner, falling back in the seat he had just so risen from with such energy. His head rested on the top of the back, facing up. He grimaced, and waved a hand about in a manner suggesting the answer was too much of a bother. Regardless, he continued, "Job." And shrugged, sitting up right with a slight slouch to the shoulders. "I was in... difficult work and came for a new one, though it's probably going to be more of a hassle than ... yeah. Gonna frickin' teach." Lifting a hand, he slapped it down on his papers in harsh reference to them, tone enough to tell he wasn't all too keen on the position. The professor turned his head sidelong to his new companion. "You been here long? In er.. wizardingness..." he muttered almost incoherently with a distinct laziness in the slurring, looking at the man's robes. Rather... spiffy? Authorative. He assumed the color was probably indicative of something but couldn't recall what, if he was even ever told.

Iggy suddenly calmed down, whatever drunkedness he had melted away like boiling oil. He took another sip and spoke, with a soft tone. "Yeah, I've been an Auror for about 5 years, made to Head Auror just a year ago. Quite a demanding job. I've taken up a position patrolling the halls at Hogwarts though, kind of protecting. After someone infultrated and attempted to attack students, they called me in." He said, taking another drink.
"My brother's in there. Top grades, the lad. He wants to be an auror..." Iggy drifted off a bit, staring into his cup.
After a few seconds, his cheeriness came back to him, and he looked back at the man, with a small blush in his cheeks. "I assume you'll be teaching there?"

[[ Of course!! =D T'would but fill me with delight! ^_^ ]]
He took cue from the sudden seriousness in the man's voice and expression and decided to to comment right away, becoming slightly solemn himself. In result he was immensely startled at the sudden return of happiness as it filled his entre countenance, jumping slightly in his seat.
"There? Ahh..." he fumbled, collecting himself in the awkwardness this presented to him. "You mean Hogwarts? Yes, yes, sir, Umm... something that starts with an 'A', it is, or perhaps a J? Anyway, seems interesting; a supposedly safe school getting attacked." The professor trailed off, noting he ought to keep on the subject change. Coughing, he continued, "I've never been there before you know?" His drink now on the table, he picked it up and moved it around before setting it down without a sip.
"Maybe you should show me around then, being all security-...y." He paused in thought. " I should be looking forward to having your brother, yes?" A smile crossed his face and he lifted the cup again though this time to stare inside and swirl the contents studiously, afterwards draining it entirely.
"Lived in London most your life then?"

Iggy kept his cheeriness in check, and empteyed his self-filling cup, only to watch it re-fill itself with rum again and again. "Yes, you'll be very pleased to have him. I taught the kid everything he could possible squeeze out of the tip of that wand 'o his. He's an exeptional student. Not a knack at Herbology though. And he's kind of a prankster. He set a couple of salamanders loose in Greenhouse 4 once" Iggy said with a slight chuckle. He drank again.
"No, we live over in Godrics Hollow. He stays at Hogwarts during school, and I stay wherever duty calles." Iggy said with a triumphant grin. "I'm proud of the boy. He's been through the exact same trouble I have. I raised him, taught him, and now here I am watching over him. It's always just been the two of us" He said, a radiant smile now pasted on his face. He empteyed his cup again and watched it re-fill again, before turning his beaming face towards the man beside of him.

A smile twitched on his face.
"Haha, there'll be nothing left for me to teach!" he nodded in good humour, glancing sidelong as his glass which hadn't refilled unlike his company's. He frowned. Cursed. But didn't do anything about it. Glitch. [[Magical glitches? wtf? Dx ]]
"I'm afraid I don't know where that is," he admitted, deciding not to drag on the discussion of their close-knit brotherly love relationship. It was... bothersome. "But I'll have plenty of time. I had to move around for my past job a lot, too. Much nicer to be able to actually own some belongings, I think." As he stopped in what seemed reminescing, his fingers began tapping the table in a nervous manner, stopping as he continued speaking again.
"Y'know, I've heard Godric's Hollow before, actually," he lied, "Nice place?" The Professor rested his head on a fisted hand, smiling in an overly-friendly manner.

Iggy's smile faded, and he raised an eyebrow. "Yeah, it's quiet...are you allright?" He asked. The man was stammering and very jittery.
Iggy reached into his boot and pulled out his 23 3/4 inch black wand and tapped his glass. It glowed a bit, and stopped. Iggy drained it, and placed it back on the table, but it did not re-fill. "Niftly little charm, that is" He said softly.

He laughed. "Not at all!" he answered, thinking about his answer with a horrific expression. "Uh,... Yes, I'm all right, all right, indeed," and nodded fervrently in confirmation of this, calming down shortly after.
"My apologies, I'm always erm... like this...." Matt let his hand move about loosely as he spoke, losing it's energy as he trailed off at the end, eyes downcast at himself as if wondering if he really was like that all the time. Hm. Returning his vision upwards, he watched the man's glass, and made an approving expression.
"It is," he acknowledged. "I never actually learned magic. Well, not entirely. Not exactly professor material, eh?" He laughed. "Your prodigy brother undoubtedly knows more than I," smiling sincerely as he found that amusing, but recognizing he didn't know this man's name despite their lengthy conversation. However, he didn't find that a necessary addition to this charming discourse and let it be, only just acknowledging the fact instead of lying in ignorance.

Post by Kaelon N. Reeve on Nov 19, 2007 22:04:00 GMT -5
Wandering into the Leaky Cauldron for a respite from the painfully bright sunlight outside, Kaelon was forced to stop just inside the door to let his eyes adjust to the dim interior of the pub. After a few seconds, once he could see a bit more clearly that is, he meandered between the rickety but clean tables, glancing surreptitiously about with curiosity. He wasn't feeling particularly out of sorts, but he had always had a problem with being enclosed for long periods of time, and had elected to leave the castle and wander about Diagon Alley. He hadn't had a chance to explore the Wizarding towns around Britain yet, since he had had to begin teaching quite nearly upon arrival. Kaelon would have brought Chelsea with him, but, as it happened she had three classes to teach on this day.
Eventually, he got as far as the bar, which was surprisingly empty with the exception of two men, one looking... rather like a dangerous hippie, with his butt-length (white! That was unusual.) hair but obvious well-worn (and they looked battle-worn, not just travel-worn) travel cloak and boots. The other man was dressed in more casual Muggle-ish attire, and looked rather sick, actually. Although Kaelon was quite surprised to find another who, like himself, didn't dress in anything at all like typical wizard clothing.
Kaelon himself today wore a pair of exceptionally worn, faded, and utterly shredded black jeans, one of his long, square-necked linen shirts--light olive, with narrow vertical stripes of white and darker olive green-- and his worn leather jacket, with no buttons(they had long since fallen or been torn off), that fell to just below his hips.
Slouching down comfortably on a stool behind the white haired man, and addressed him curiously, his expression calm and relaxed as usual, "Pardon, but you look just like one of my students... I swear I was a cat in another life, I"m damned curious enough, but do you bear any relation to... what's his name now... Gyan? Salamanece?"

Iggy's ears cocked as he heard someone come in. Turning his head, his un-manly groomed hair flowing across his back, he saw the newcommer and registered him as not being a threat. Iggy smiled his boy-ish smile and replied to the man.
Iggy's physical features were a lot like Gyan's, only a little more mature. His jaw was more angled, his cheecks were raised higher, and he was a bit bigger, but they both had the same, royally pointed face, same minorly blushed cheeks, same hair color, and same hands. They even shared the same habits, Both Gyan and Iggy having random parts of the body twitching at various anommalies.
He said to the man in a polite voice, "Infact, I do." Iggy took off his right basalisk skin glove and extended a mildly-scarred hand towards the stranger. "My names Iggy Salamanece. I patroll the grounds and halls of Hogwarts during the night". He said, a small twinkle in his eyes.
